A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned my ‘fear of the Mafia’ prior to my recent visit to Moscow in Russia. I was able to be with that fear and was actually pleasantly surprised that I saw no sign of this whilst in the Russian capital. But what is the Mafia? This week, Rupert and James Murdoch came here to London, England to answer questions at the Leveson Inquiry on the biggest corruption I have ever known on these British shores. The Murdoch empire’s dirty tactics brought down many of their top journalists and editors, as well as police officers including chiefs, a member of the ministry of defence, and an army man. After many News Corp arrests, it’s clear: Rupert Murdoch must have known about the crimes his employees were committing. He may have sweet-talked Parliament and slipped by the police so far, but we can hold him accountable for the violations of law and privacy that helped pad his pockets. This You Tube video below of James Murdoch being questioned defines the ‘Mafia’.
